Veneers

Dental veneers are ultra-thin pieces of durable porcelain made to fit your unique teeth. These shells are customized to suit the shape and color of your smile, so they blend in seamlessly and improve your appearance.

Dental veneers are bonded to the fronts of teeth to create a more attractive smile. They also provide strength to the teeth, and can be an ideal alternative to dental crowns.

Reasons for Porcelain Veneers

With porcelain veneers, you can design a uniform, beautiful smile. Dental veneers can correct:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Discolored or stained teeth
  • Teeth that are too small or too large
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Worn down teeth

The Porcelain Veneers Procedure

Getting dental veneers requires two to three visits to Smilecology. Little to no anesthesia is required during this comfortable procedure.

The affected teeth are first prepared for the porcelain veneers. Dr. Phan will lightly buff and shape the teeth to create space for the new veneer. She will take a mold or impression of the teeth, and help you decide which shade is right for your customized restorations.

During your second visit, the Smilecology team will cleanse the teeth. After checking the shape, size, and fit of the new veneer, she will bond it to the tooth with a special cement and bonding light.

Maintaining Your New Veneers

Maintaining porcelain veneers is hassle-free. As long as you treat them the same way you should treat your natural teeth, they can last for ten years or more.

Brush and floss your teeth routinely, and use non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste. Feel free to call us with questions or concerns about your veneers.

It is important to avoid clenching or grinding the teeth, or using them as tools to open packages. Return to see Dr. Phan for routine visits so that she can check up on your dental veneers along with your natural teeth. Give us a call today.
